Iya Onike (in conversation)

Mummy mi…

Today, your body returns to dust, yet your soul speaks to me. Speak on in spirit as you spoke reassuringly in body to me…

Maybe I didn’t show it enough, but you knew I knew and valued the fact that you were everything to me. You birthed me. You enabled me. You indulged me. You protected me. You cheerled me from when I didn’t know what I was in this side of the divide for. You took all sorts of missiles for me. You gave me wings to fly, and when I flew close to the sun and would have gotten burnt, you always came to shelter me. Your belief in me remains the sure stilt I stand on. I am still groping around for words to begin; but I know we would be in talk forever.
